  10. Commander, as I am sure you are aware, the C-130 supply flights over
  11. Bosnia-Hertzegovina are a dismal failure. Supplies meant for starving
  12. civilians are falling into Serbian military hands. The reasons are
  13. evident, having lost three C-130s in recent months to intensive ground
  14. fire and SAM batteries, all flights must resume high altitude drops.
  15. This makes it impossible for precise insertion of materials and supplies.
  16. Operation FISH MARKET has begun with the insistence of the President of
  17. the United States of America and the blessings of the United States
  18. Congress. The operation entails the low altitude delivery of materials
  19. and supplies to the beleaguered towns and villages of that war-ravaged
  20. land. To this end, it was decided to go in low and armed. Commander,
  21. your job is to get food and medicine to the outskirts of Sarajevo. The
  22. Bosnians have set up a drop point for you and your men. You boys are
  23. the javelin point of an operation that could, if successful, bring
  24. relief to millions of starving women and children. The continuance of
  25. operation FISH MARKET hinges on your success, I know you won't let us
  26. or them down. Of course, the Serbs are not going to be the least bit
  27. happy to see you, shucks. That is why the cargo-carrying blackhawk will
  28. be escorted by armed gunships. We don't want you to purposefully to
  29. engage the Serbian forces and their bargain-basement soviet equipment,
  30. but, we will understand if you have to defend yourself, if you know
  31. what I am getting at. Oh yeah, one more thing, since it is inevitable
  32. that the US and NATO forces will be drawn into the conflict, we would
  33. also like your boys to do some checking on the various strengths of
  34. Serbian forces within Sarajevo. We have also dispatched an A-10 out
  35. of Ramstein AFB that mid-air refueled over Austria, he will be standing
  36. by for CAS should that become necessary.
